The eLibrary has been developed in partnership with Growing Futures, industry experts that have been delivering training on child safety since 2014. Growing Futures has developed training specialised to organisations in the early childhood, education, health and disability sectors.
Mapped to the Child Safe Standards
The Child Safe Practices in Action eLibrary is mapped against the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, Victorian Child Safe Standards, NSW Child Safe Standards and Tasmanian Child and Youth Safe Standards. Learners can choose from different pathways that are relevant to their location and view the requirements for their State or Territory.

They have been developed as an engaging way to understand the Standards with real life case examples showing how the Standards practically apply to your organisation.

What You Will Learn

Module 1

Introduction and Self-Care

Through this introductory module, learners discover more about the child safety requirements nationally and in relevant states and territories. It also explores the importance of self-care for people who work with children who may have experienced harm and abuse.

Module 2

Understanding Risks and Responsibilities

Child safety is everyone’s responsibility.

In module 2, learners explore the current landscape of child safety in Australia and the types of risks posed to children.

Module 3

Part 1 of the Standards/Principles

What do the child-safe standards/principles actually mean for organisations and individuals?

In Module 3: Part 1 of the Standards/Principles, learners explore the first five standards/principles and how to implement them.

Module 4

Part 2 of the Standards/Principles

What do the child-safe standards/principles actually mean for organisations and individuals?

In Module 4: Part 2 of the Standards/Principles, learners explore the remaining standards/principles and how to implement them.
