Australian Tourism Industry Council and etrainu transform tourism training through the Quality Tourism eLearning Hub
etrainu announced its partnership with the Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC) to launch the Quality Tourism eLearning Hub. The platform promotes continuous learning, professional development, and personal growth for tourism operators across Australia, particularly regional, small and micro-sized businesses.
As the national representative body of Australia’s tourism industry, ATIC is the owner and licensor of the Quality Tourism Framework (QTF), which houses multiple tourism accreditation and awards programs. Some of these programs include the Quality Tourism accreditation program, the Sustainable Tourism accreditation program, and the Accessible Tourism program.
Through the Quality Tourism eLearning Hub, ATIC partnered with etrainu to develop 40 online courses to help tourism operators and their staff uplift their industry capabilities and become QTF-accredited. The courses will also help to boost knowledge about the industry through key topics such as accessibility, sustainability, and cultural awareness to elevate visitor experiences.
The Minister for Trade and Tourism, Don Farrell, said, “The Albanese Labor Government is proud to invest in the future workforce of the tourism and travel industry. By supporting this eLearning Hub, we’re ensuring people across the sector have access to the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a fast-changing industry.
"The Quality Tourism eLearning Hub will help people to build great careers in the tourism industry, as well as building the skilled workforce that our world-class tourism operators need.
"People are at the heart of our critical tourism sector. With this hub, we are investing not just in training, but in innovation, resilience and the long-term growth of the industry."

"The Quality Tourism eLearning Hub is a natural progression of the Quality Tourism Framework, providing a practical, industry-led platform to build workforce capability nationwide,” said Erin McLeod, CEO of Australian Tourism Industry Council.
"By collaborating with eLearning experts etrainu, we’ve created a versatile learning platform designed to serve tourism businesses of all sizes and locations throughout Australia."
“This partnership is about equipping tourism operators with practical tools to grow their business and support their teams,” said Paul Hoon, CEO of etrainu. “Together with ATIC, we’ve created a platform that delivers relevant, accessible learning, particularly for the small and regional operators at the heart of Australia’s tourism sector.”
Powered by etrainu’s learning management system (LMS), the Quality Tourism eLearning Hub is fully integrated with the existing QTF, allowing for seamless single sign-on (SSO). It also offers tourism operators access to structured learning pathways and reporting tools that help staff build their knowledge and skills.
Designed to reach operators across the country, especially those in regional and remote areas, the eLearning Hub provides a centralised platform for both business owners and employees. It helps improve staff consistency, quality, and compliance while also reducing risk through up-to-date training. Operators can also use the platform to scale their businesses and onboard new staff more efficiently.
Together with etrainu’s in-house Studio team, ATIC will develop 40 courses using a phased roll-out approach. The courses will cater to Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced skill levels, offering flexible learning for all businesses.
"Creating content that genuinely connects with tourism operators means understanding their day-to-day challenges," said Aneeta Rodricks, Head of Studio at etrainu. "We’re working closely with ATIC to design practical, engaging courses across all skill levels so businesses can learn what they need, when they need it."
This bold new initiative will see ATIC establish the Quality Tourism eLearning Hub as Australia’s premier destination for tourism training and accreditation. By offering relevant, engaging courses, this platform provides flexible learning opportunities, fostering a highly skilled workforce and raising service standards across Australia.
