Celtic Soccer Academy, the International department of Celtic FC have partnered with etrainu, a specialist eLearning platform and training solution, to help transform how they interact and develop coaches and clubs globally.
For over 12 years now Celtic Soccer Academy has grown and managed a hugely successful International Club Partnership Programme which currently has over 35 clubs worldwide.
With well over 1,500 coaches and volunteers across these partner clubs it presents a unique challenge when it comes to regular engagement and standardising the coach education content delivered by the club both at home and abroad.
The first course available on the etrainu platform is ‘Coaching Fundamentals’ which has been designed for parent volunteers and grassroots coaches who are starting out in their coaching journey.
This course consists of six modules with further courses for more experienced coaches to be released over the next 12 months.
The courses are designed to be educational yet simple to understand utilising video and other interactive content to engage the learner.
The long-term vision for the project is to create a coach education platform that will provide game knowledge and improve coaching practices for coaches at all levels of the game.
However, the initial release will be reserved for our partner clubs with a wider public release later in 2024.
Chris Smith, Head of Soccer Academy at Celtic FC, said, “This project will be a game-changer for our department in terms of how we engage and deliver coach education on a global scale.
The quality of the platform and its ability to create courses and modules will allow us to engage with all of our partners regardless of their location or time difference. Most importantly, it will allow them to learn and develop at their own pace.
The potential this coach education platform has is limitless, and I can’t wait to see how it develops over the next 12 months.”
Cameron O’Riordan, VP of Sales and Revenue at etrainu, said, “Partnering with Celtic FC presents an exciting opportunity to scale and shape the way education is delivered in the football scene.
With our dynamic learning management system (LMS) and years of course-development experience, etrainu was perfectly positioned to deliver a solution.”
