Irish Ice Hockey Association transforms its education and training processes, powered by etrainu

October 9, 2023

The Irish Ice Hockey Association (IIHA) have engaged with etrainu as their new learning management partner.

With a presence of over 20 years, the IIHA serves to promote and grow ice hockey as the national governing body of the sport in Ireland. The collaboration marks a significant step forward for the IIHA as it seeks to modernise and expand its educational resources to its members and the wider ice hockey community in Ireland.

Previously, the IIHA relied heavily on traditional face-to-face training sessions, which posed several logistical challenges. Participants often had to travel long distances to attend training sessions and dedicate significant time to completing the sessions. And the COVID-19 pandemic only exacerbated these challenges.

As a result of booming online technologies that became increasingly frequent during the COVID-19 pandemic, the IIHA searched for online avenues to host their training sessions from anywhere and eliminate any geographical barriers for its members.

etrainu, as experts in online education solutions, were perfectly positioned to meet the needs of the IIHA.

Aaron Guli, President of IIHA, said, "We were thoroughly impressed with the platform's user accessibility. The etrainu platform will simplify our training processes and help us provide as much education as possible for our members, now and in the future.”

The IIHA will leverage etrainu’s platform to deliver critical training around the sport, starting with concussion awareness.

JustGo is the chosen integration partner for the IIHA, which will use JustGo to streamline access for members. The integration will significantly simplify the registration process for members, providing a better user experience and consistency across the board.

etrainu's Senior Customer Success Manager, Rob Flude, said, “The Irish Ice Hockey Association has identified and solved a key problem for the sport of ice hockey in Ireland. We’re excited they’ve chosen etrainu to help them scale their resources and expand their community.”

Through this partnership, the IIHA will engage members more deeply and make education more accessible for coaches, parents, players, and officials alike. In doing so, the IIHA will continue to deliver value to its members and grow the sport of ice hockey.
