Each new employee had to be manually assigned multiple courses, which required constant switching between screens and double-checking to ensure that all training had been allocated correctly.

“Sometimes we will have 1–2 new starters in a month, other times it is 1 a week. So the process could be really time-consuming,” explains Emma Robinson, HR Manager at Interchange Illawarra.
Emma and her colleague, Brooke, often wished for a more streamlined solution.
“Brooke and I would say to each other, ‘Imagine if there was a feature where we could group a series of courses together and then assign them to a new starter in one hit.’”

The Onboarding Playlist at Interchange Illawarra, which includes a mix of Interchange’s own courses and etrainu courses, is now automatically assigned to all new employees as soon as they are added to the etrainu platform, eliminating the need for manual setup.

Emma estimates that these time savings could amount to approximately 7.5 hours per year—the equivalent of a full working day.

LOOKING AHEAD
Interchange Illawarra plans to build on their success with more Playlists in the future.
“I am thinking about creating an Annual Training Playlist with refreshers for the team and a Complex Care Playlist for our High-Intensity Supports team.”
