Course overview
PPE is a vital last line of defence against infection in disability support work. This online PPE training course prepares disability support workers to choose, use, and dispose of PPE safely so they protect themselves and the people they support.
The PPE course covers the different types of personal protective equipment, when each is needed, and how to weigh risk by task. It walks through hand hygiene as the foundation of safe practice, the correct order for donning and doffing, and the rules for maintenance and disposal of single-use and reusable items. Reflective activities, two knowledge checks, and a final quiz let learners test the skills in real support situations.
