Person-Centred Active Support
Online NDIS Training for Disability Support Workers
- Disability Support

Course overview
Person-Centred Active Support is a practical way of working that helps a person take part in their own life, rather than having things done for them. It turns everyday moments like making tea, choosing clothes, walking to the shops, into chances for a person to do as much as they can.
The course covers the four essentials of Active Support: every moment has potential, little and often, graded assistance, and maximising choice and control. It shows support workers how to give just the right amount of help, break a task into small steps, and notice the difference between a person being present and truly taking part.
Through real scenarios, workers learn to support choice and control, respect a person’s right to take risks, and adjust their approach when something is not working.
