Course overview
The NDIS Code of Conduct sets out how everyone in the disability sector is expected to behave. It applies to all providers, key personnel, and workers, whether registered or not, and it exists to protect the right of people with disability to safe, respectful, and ethical support.
This course works through the Code as a whole. An introduction explains what the Code is, who it applies to, and how it is used, then eight short modules unpack each element in turn, from acting with respect and protecting privacy to raising concerns, preventing mistreatment and sexual misconduct, and pricing services fairly.
Each element is shown in practice, with everyday examples of what following the Code looks like on the job and where to get help when a situation is unclear.

Who does the NDIS Code of Conduct apply to?
Everyone in the disability sector. It covers registered and unregistered providers, and their employees, contractors, volunteers, and key personnel. It is not limited to registered providers.
Does every element apply to individual support workers?
Most do. Element 8 (pricing services fairly) usually applies to providers and organisations rather than individual workers. The other elements set expectations for everyday support work, from acting with respect to preventing mistreatment and sexual misconduct.
What should a worker do if they have a concern about safety or conduct?
Element 5 covers this. Take immediate action when something is not right and raise the concern with the organisation and/or the NDIS Commission. A breach can also be referred to a worker's professional association, which can trigger an NDIS Commission investigation.
